:KLEF piano for micro:bit
The :KLEF Piano is a creative accessory for the BBC micro:bit that combines programming and music in a practical and engaging way. When you insert the micro:bit into the built-in edge connector, the piano is ready to use with 15 capacitive touch keys – 13 keys forming one octave, plus two buttons for switching between octaves. This allows users to compose and play their own tones and melodies while learning to code at the same time.
The piano features a built-in amplifier and speaker, so sound plays directly from the device, and it is powered via a 5 V micro USB connection. This makes it easy to get started without any additional equipment. Kitronik :KLEF supports programming with MakeCode, MicroPython and Mu, and can be used both for music projects and as a control interface, where the micro:bit buttons send signals to other micro:bits or control robots and micro-projects.
This module is well suited for use in school projects, coding clubs and home learning, where children can explore sound, interactivity and programming logic in a hands-on and motivating way.
